Unique Technologies
INTRODUCING AN ADVANCED SURFACE FOR OPTIMIZED PATIENT CARE AND NURSING EFFICIENCY.

Designed with integrated safety features and patient comfort in mind, the First Step® All-In-One™ includes proprietary technologies that set it apart from other support surfaces.

  • Smart Surface Technology™ (SST™) - Uses infrared light to automatically adjust the air pressure in each section to help optimize therapy and help prevent bottoming out. SST™ can help nurse efficiency by reducing the need to set up, monitor and adjust air pressure.
  • GORE® Medical Fabric - Provides excellent moisture vapor transfer, air permeability and water resistance to help keep patients’ skin cooler and drier.
  • Pulsation Therapy - Automatically alternates cushion pressures in the chambers of the torso and leg cushions. This helps to improve capillary blood flow and helps increase oxygenation to the wound and skin. Additional benefits include increased lymph flow and decreased edema.
  • Heel Immersion Pillow - Helps address the problem of skin breakdown by lowering the air volume in the heel area to cradle the heel.
  • Graphical Touch Screen - Allows easy access to surface functions and simplified therapy and feature programming. For added familiarity and ease of nursing, the layout remains the same, regardless of therapy level selected.

Therapies
THREE ADVANCED THERAPIES. ONE SIMPLE SYSTEM.

With the First Step® All-In-One™ MRS, healthcare facilities now have three different levels of therapy in one MRS: Low Air Loss, Pulsation and Turning. KCI will preset the level of therapy that you select at the time of the order. You can change therapy levels during the course of treatment simply by calling KCI. Because you only pay for the therapy level you choose, the First Step® All-In-One™ can help your facility manage costs as well as patient outcomes.
